国際観光学部は4年間の在学中に2度留学?海外研修にチャレンジができます。今回、長期留学に参加中の学生から届いたレポート第3弾をご紹介します。
【アイルランドからのレポート】
アイルランドでの語学研修が始まり、4ヶ月が経ちました。最初の1ヶ月は新しい環境に慣れるのに必死で、授業についていくのが精一杯でした。2ヶ月目には生活にも慣れ、日本食が恋しくなり、英語力への不安も感じました。3ヶ月目には英語が感覚的に理解できるようになり、日常生活への対応力があがってきました。そして4ヶ月目にはリスニングとリーディング力が向上した一方で、ディベートや即興プレゼンには難しさを感じました。自分の英語力の無さにショックを受けて、渡航前にもっと英語の勉強をしておくべきだとも痛感することもありました。しかし、ここまで着実に成長できたことは自信につながっています。外国人の友人作りや異文化交流にも積極的に取り組めており、大きな満足感も得ています。さらに、英語で分かり合う楽しさ、日本の良さ、自分自身と向き合う大切さも実感でき、非常に意義深い留学経験となっています。残りの日々も後悔なく過ごします。

【マレーシアからのレポート】
After coming to Malaysia four months ago, I traveled to other countries for the first time. I chose to visit Thailand, which is only two hours away from Malaysia, and Vietnam, where I could see some friends I met in Malaysia.
In Vietnam, my friends picked me up at the airport and showed me around their hometown. I tried traditional food, and we had great conversations at a local café. Thanks to them, I was able to learn more about their cultures. It was fun and I had a wonderful time. Before, we couldn't talk much, but now we can have longer conversations because I’m getting more comfortable speaking English.
It's not easy to visit their countries and meet them often, but I’d love to travel there again someday. Through these experiences, I feel I’ve become a braver person than before. It was truly a great experience.
I’m especially grateful to the friend who took me all the way to the airport at the end of my trip. Although the time we spent together was short, I was deeply moved when they saw me off with tears in their eyes. It made me realize how meaningful our friendship had become in such a short time.
